For all those who are interested in the GIS, there is approaching a very big event coming to Hamburg this year – Intergeo 2016. It is the world’s leading trade fair and conference for geodesy, geoinformation and land management. This year it will take place from October 11 – 13 in Hamburg.
The conference will cover the latest developments in surveying, geoinformation, remote sensing and photogrammetry and allied technologies.
The event focus on how the intelligent, digital city might look like and what role geoinformation would play as cities and metropolitan regions become “smart”. International speakers will present this subject, but also other key topics such as BIM and big data. There are also political and social issues, which will significantly affect our future. Mobility, the energy supply, climate protection, liveable cities and rural areas are all fields where solutions are being sought.
The motto of the Intergeo 2016 – is “Knowledge and action for Planet Earth”
The value of Geoinformation is a slot in the Intergeo conference programme. You can look forward to an interesting panel discussion. This will explore questions such as the value – determining factors in geodata, the advantages and disadvantages of using open data and the changes resulting from current IT trends.
There are also good news for young people. The geodesy and geoinformation industry is facing a growing deficit of young talent and skilled staff. The Intergeo 2016 can be a great place to meet companies. Companies are searching for graduates and students all the way. About 16,500 visitors from 90 countries will come to Hamburg, it will be a unique opportunity to establish contacts with international companies.
